Introduction

JZW1 Series Intelligent Universal Circuit Breaker is a kind of Air Circuit Breaker(ACB), which is suitable for distribution networks with a rated voltage of 400VAC/690VAC (50Hz) and a rated current of 400A~6300A. JZW1 series circuit breakers are mainly used to distribute electric energy and protect circuits and power equipment from overload, under-voltage, short circuit, single-phase grounding and other faults. JZW1 series circuit breakers have intelligent protection functions, which can improve the reliability of power supply and avoid unnecessary power outages. JZW1 series circuit breaker also has an open communication interface, which can carry out "four remotes" (remote measurement, remote signaling, remote control, remote adjustment) to meet the requirements of the control center and automation system. JZW1 series circuit breakers have a pulse withstand voltage of 8000V at an altitude of 2000 meters (different altitudes are corrected according to standards, and the maximum does not exceed 12000V). If there is no intelligent controller and sensor, the JZW1 series circuit breaker can be used as an isolator. JZW1 series circuit breakers meet the GB14048.2-2008 standard.

1. Classification of universal circuit breakers:

1.1 According to the installation method: fixed type, withdrawable type.

1.2 According to the number of poles: three poles (3P), four poles (4P).

1.3 According to the operation mode: electric operation, manual operation (for overhaul and maintenance).

2. Classification of tripping devices:

Intelligent release, under-voltage instantaneous/delay release, shunt release.

3. Classification of intelligent controllers:

H type (communication type), M type (ordinary type), L type (economical type).


Structural features:

● The fixed circuit breaker is mainly composed of contact system, intelligent controller, manual operating mechanism, electric operating mechanism, and mounting plate.

● Withdrawable circuit breaker is mainly composed of contact system, intelligent controller, manual operating mechanism, electric operating mechanism, and withdrawable mounting seat.

● JZW1 circuit breaker adopts three-dimensional layout, which has the characteristics of compact structure and small volume. The contact system is enclosed in an insulating bottom plate, and each phase contact is also separated by an insulating plate to form a small room, and the intelligent controller, manual operating mechanism, and electric operating mechanism are arranged in front of it to form independent units. If one of the units is broken, it can be replaced directly with a new unit.

● Withdrawable circuit breaker is composed of plug-in circuit breaker and withdrawable seat. The plug-in circuit breaker is mounted on the withdrawable seat, so the circuit breaker can be pulled in and out through the rail. The main circuit is connected through the bus bar of the circuit breaker and the bridge contact on the withdrawable seat.

● Withdrawable circuit breaker has three working positions: "connection" position, "test position, and "separation" position. When in the "connected" position, the main circuit and the secondary circuit are both connected; when in the "test" position, the main circuit is disconnected and separated by an insulating partition, only the secondary circuit is connected, and some necessary action test can be carried out; when in the "separation" position, the main circuit and the secondary circuit are all disconnected. The position can be changed by rotating the handle in or out, and the working position of the withdrawable circuit breaker will be displayed by the pointer on the crossbeam of the withdrawable seat.

● Withdrawable circuit breaker has a mechanical interlock position. The circuit breaker can only be closed in the connection position or the test position, and the circuit breaker cannot be closed in the middle position between the connection and the test.

Controller characteristics

● The buttons and indicators of the intelligent controller:

1. M type or H type controller

1 - "Reset" button: After the circuit breaker fails or the test trip, if you need to close it again, you need to press the reset button, otherwise the circuit breaker cannot be closed.

2 - LED display: It can display current value, voltage value, time and other information.

3 - "Select" button: Under normal operation status, it can display various current/voltage values cyclically; under fault status or fault checking status, it can display fault current or time value cyclically.

4 - LED indicator: It can indicate the various states and categories of the circuit breaker.

5 - "Clear" button: After the controller is set, tested and faulted, or before the circuit breaker is closed, you must press this button to make the controller in normal operation.

6 - "Set" button: It is used to check or set various protection characteristics, such as current and time. Press this button to indicate each state cyclically.

7 - "Check" button: After pressing the "clear" button, press this button to display and indicate the status of the last fault and the fault current or time value. The fault current or time can be checked cyclically by pressing the "Select" button.

8 - "Trip", "No trip" button: It is used for test functions.

9 - "Storage", "+", "-"  buttons: It is used to set current or time.


2. L type controller

1 - "Reset" button: After the circuit breaker fails or the test trip, if you need to close it again, you need to press the reset button, otherwise the circuit breaker cannot be closed.

2 - Load LED indicator: It is used to display the long delay current of overload.

3 - Setting knob button: It is used to set the corresponding current value through the scale value on the knob (such as long delay, short delay, delay, grounding protection current, etc.).

4 - Fault LED indicator: It is used to indicate the fault category.

5 - Long delay overload protection time setting button: It is used to adjust the time by flipping the switch position.

6 - Short delay overload protection time setting button: It is used to adjust the time by flipping the switch position.

7 - Ground fault protection time setting button: It is used to adjust the time by flipping the switch position.

8 - "Clear" button: After the controller is set, tested and faulted, or before the circuit breaker is closed, you must press this button to make the controller in normal operation.

9 - "Check" button: Press this button after the circuit breaker has tripped to indicate the cause of the fault trip. The controller has a power-off memory function, which can effectively protect fault information.

10 - "Test" button: It is used to check whether the controller and the circuit breaker cooperate well.


3.Setting value

Ir4 - the setting value of grounding protection current.

Irl - the setting value of long delay current.

Ir2 - the setting value of short delay current.

Ir3 - the setting value of instantaneous current.

tG - the setting value of grounding protection time.

tL - the setting value of long delay time.

ts - the setting value of short delay time.


● Main functions of the intelligent controller:

  1. With overload long delay inverse time limit, short delay inverse time limit and definite time limit, instantaneous and other functions. You can set the protection characteristics according to your needs.
  2. Single-phase grounding protection function.
  3. Display function: setting current display, action current display, etc. (If you need voltage display, please contact us in advance).
  4. Alarm function: overload alarm.
  5. Self-check function: overheating protection self-check, microcomputer self-diagnosis, etc.
  6. Test function: test the action characteristics of the release.

Application environment

● Ambient temperature: -5℃~+40℃, the average value of 24h does not exceed +35℃. If the circuit breaker works in an environment where the temperature is higher than +40°C or lower than -5°C, please contact us;

● Altitude: ≤2000m;

● Relative humidity: monthly average ≤90% (the average temperature of the month is +25℃); relative humidity ≤50% (when the ambient temperature is +40℃). The relative humidity is related to the ambient temperature. The lower the ambient temperature, the higher the allowable relative humidity. For condensation caused by temperature changes, take appropriate protective measures (such as adding drainage holes);

● Ingress Protection Ratings: IP30;

● Air pollution level: Level Ⅲ;

● Usage category: Class B;

● Installation category: the installation category of the main circuit of the circuit breaker, the under-voltage release, and the primary coil of the power transformer is Ⅳ, and the installation category of the auxiliary circuit and control circuit is Ⅲ;

● Installation site: no severe impact, no serious pollution and chemical corrosion, no conductive dust or explosion hazard. And the vertical inclination of the circuit breaker cannot exceed 5° (the inclination of the mine circuit breaker cannot exceed 15°).

The inverse time action characteristics of long delay overcurrent is as follows:  I²TL=(1.5lr1)²tL. tL is the setting time of long delay 1.5lrs, and TL is the action time of long delay.

Table 5: protection characteristics of short delay overcurrent controller

The characteristic of short-time overcurrent protection is definite time overcurrent protection. If it is required to be inverse time overcurrent protection at low multiples (Ir1/In), its characteristic is as follows: I2Ts=(8Ir1)2ts, ts is the setting delay time. When the overload current is greater than 8lrl, the short-delay over-current protection characteristic is automatically converted to the definite time characteristic.
